About Me

Hello! Bonjour ! iHola! Ciao! My name is Michael, and I am the teacher and blogger behind World Language Resources. I have over a decade of World Language teaching experience, both at the middle and high school levels. I am currently a middle school World Language teacher, which helps inform the types of resources I create.  I began sharing my resources on Teachers Pay Teachers in 2017, and I am so thrilled to be able to help fellow World Language educators provide their students with comprehensive and engaging resources. My goal is to save you time and mental bandwidth so that you can be more present in the classroom, teaching and engaging your students in the language-learning process.

I began learning languages when I was around 7 or 8 years old! I learned Spanish in elementary and middle school, French in high school and college, and Italian in high school…and then again, much later in life! I see language learning a lot like figuring out a puzzle: every time you learn new vocabulary or grammar, you acquire a new piece of the puzzle that you can add on to what you’ve already completed.

As a World Language teacher, I know the value and importance of using high-quality resources to help motivate and engage our language learners. The resources that I create and use in my World Language classroom are communicative, engaging, proficiency-based, cognitively rigorous, and whenever possible, FUN! In my own teaching, I infuse comprehension-based strategies (CI/TPRS) with general education best practices to ensure that my students acquire language passively while actively learning the systems and structures of the language.
